Apaltagua premiers new Sparkling wine, Costero Extra Brut.

Made with grapes from the San Antonio Valley, this wine is the first sparkling wine in Chile to incorporate the varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc.

Costero Extra Brut, available beginning in October, is aimed at sparkling wine drinkers with discerning taste, who enjoy drinking a unique, entertaining and innovative wine.

The wine was made using the méthode champenoise, or traditional method, and spends 9 months ageing in the bottle. The wine has delicate bubbles, and marked notes of green fruit and crusty bread; in the mouth it is creamy and persistent.

This is the first Sparkling wine that Apaltagua has made, and is innovative, but also competitively priced, in terms of its quality/price ratio. It will have a retail price of CLP$6,990 (US$ 14,99) in the Chilean market, and will be sold in specialty stores, restaurants, and hotels, as well as the 40 international markets where Apaltagua is already available.
