Green-tinged yellow. Fresh melon and pear aromas are complemented by honey and orange zest nuances. Juicy and light on its feet, offering pliant honeydew and candied citrus flavors sharpened by a touch of white pepper. Finishes with good clarity and cut, leaving citrus and spice notes behind.
Apaltagua Malbec Reserva 2010

Saturated ruby. Rich dark fruit compote and bitter chocolate on the nose and palate; a vanilla nuance builds with air. On the oaky side but also deeply fruity, even jammy, showing a smooth texture and a clinging finish. This young wine will be better if its lumber integrates with a little bottle age.
Apaltagua Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2010 87 points Deep ruby. Musky cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by licorice and woodsmoke. Bitter cherry and dark chocolate flavors show a slightly clenched quality and pick up spiciness with air. Finishes with good chewy persistence and lingering notes of cracked pepper and licorice. Nicely focused but I’d like more give here.

Bright violet color. Musky cherry and dark berry aromas and flavors, with subtle herb and cracked pepper nuances adding complexity. A supple, easy-drinking midweight that shows modest depth but good clarity, finishing with good cut and persistence. This is drinking well now.
